Sometimes, to find a great meal in Madison, all you need is GPS and an Instagram account. New food carts and food trucks pop up every year, bringing mouth-watering meals on the road to music festivals, bars, farmer’s markets and other pop-up events.

Here are a few of our favorite mobile eateries that have hit the roads in Madison – follow them on Facebook or Instagram to find out where they’ll be next. If we overlooked one of your faves, give us a holler!

The “Cinn” in Cinn City Smash does not refer to Cincinnati, but to cinnamon – as in cinnamon sprinkled on the fresh-made churros that this new food cart offers. The “Smash” is, of course, smash burgers, available in both meat and vegan options. City Cast Madison podcast host Bianca Martin recently caught up with the besties and co-owners of the truck to hear the story of how this food truck took Madison by storm.

Jason Beilke, founder of the popular Jason’s Jerk food cart, has taken a break this year to open his new Sandwich Hub cart, making comforting sammies like Italian beef and cheesesteak.

This new cart brings a taste of Los Angeles-area street cuisine to Madison, with fish tacos, ceviche and a bacon-wrapped twist on the hot dog. The cart’s Tacaso Tuesday nights at State Line Distillery have become an instant tradition.

Owners John and Trish Marks collectively have 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry, which they bring to bear on their new food truck. They have a regular Friday Night Fish Fry at Three Waters Reserve, as well as a Thursday seafood-centric “Crispy Catch” at the Rusty Bee Lounge in Fitchburg.
