Happy Wednesday, y’all.
In case you missed it, yesterday we dove into Madison’s soup scene. Today, I’m hunting for pizza and of course, I want your takes.

What's CITY Talking About?
🪩 Sotto Owners Pitch Another State St. Club
- The new club catering to electronic dance music fans could go into the former home of Diego’s Mexican Bistro at 118 State St. The venue, dubbed Cielo, would also have a bar and grill offering small plates.
- The club would offer dance classes and events on weeknights, techno brunches on the weekend, and music until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The owners, who also operate Sotto at 303 N. Henry St. say safety is a major priority for them and they plan to enforce strict ID rules and use a metal detector at the door. They hope to open the new spot in spring 2024. 🤑 County Budget Approved

- Non-unionized county staff will get a 4.5% raise.
- Ten million dollars will be added to the county’s affordable housing fund and another $8 million will help fund safe housing developments specifically for farmworkers in Dane County.
- The CARES program will receive $200,000 to help with expansion efforts (because of the program’s success!). [City Cast Madison]
- Why this matters: Property taxes on the average Madison home will increase by $147.22.

🌭 Your Lunchtime Read: El Chisme Co-op wraps hot dogs with bacon and gossip
- “For 12 years, a bustling food cart has drawn a crowd to a Raymond Road parking lot several evenings a week. Its name, on paper, was Brothers Hot Dogs.
But its biggest fans have long known the cart as El Chisme — Spanish for 'The Gossip.' They bring their own folding chairs to hang out in the parking lot, make small talk in line and order the weekly special before they even ask what it is.” [Cap Times]

Are Dog Parks… Bad?!
Dog parks are plentiful in Madison and generally popular. A lot of us have small yards and our doggos want space to run. But some dog trainers say dog parks actually aren’t all that great. Some dogs get overwhelmed and just don’t vibe with others, leading them to lash out or shut down.
