What's CITY Talking About?

🚌 Give Feedback on Metro’s Proposed Fare Updates
- Metro Transit and the city’s Transportation Commission will host a virtual public hearing Wednesday at 6 p.m. to discuss updates related to the new fare collection technology coming to Madison buses this summer.
- ICYMI: Metro plans to install new technology that will allow riders to tap a prepaid card to pay for rides. Fares themselves will not increase but Metro hopes the new system will be more efficient.
- Dig deeper: This change is all part of the city’s move toward a Bus Rapid Transit system. [Metro, WORT, City Cast Madison 🎧]
🗳️ Big Shake Up on Deck for Dane County Board
- Ten Dane County supervisors have announced they’re not seeking re-election come this April. That means, big change is afoot in county government (not to mention our county executive is on his way out).
- Some context: County Board supervisors serve two-year terms, with elections falling in even-numbered years. The supervisors not seeking re-election represent Districts 5, 12, 17, 21, 25, 26, 29, 33, 36, and 37. You can find your representative here.

🪴 Wildewood Says Goodbye
- After seven years in business, Wildewood announced it will close its doors for good at the end of April.
- Why? As the owner posted on the plant shop’s social media, “There are a number of factors that brought me to this heartbreaking decision — some more personal than others, and they all aligned with our lease coming to an end at Hilldale.”

🐟 Fish Fry….Pizza?!
- Yes, you heard that right. Ian’s is serving a pizza topped with tatar sauce, mozzarella, fish nuggets, french fries, coleslaw. If this (un)holy creation appeals to you, it’s available Fridays during Lent. [The Badger Herald]
