What's CITY Talking About?
🚔 WisDOT Turns Up the Heat
- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is taking traffic enforcement seriously this year, announcing increased enforcement on the Beltline throughout the summer.
- WisDOT will partner with the Wisconsin State Patrol to target reckless driving, speeding motorists, and Flex Lane violations.
- Eye in the sky: Helicopters will also be deployed to help with enforcement. [27 WKOW]
🚘 New Location for Madison West DMV
- The previous Madison West DMV location closed its doors last Thursday as it prepared to move to a new location. The new digs at 2344 South Park Street open today.
- A big reason for the move was accessibility. The new building is easier to access from the Beltline and for those who use public transportation. [15 WMTV]
📝 More From UW-Madison Encampment
- On Thursday, the UW-Madison police department issued 19 additional citations in connection to the pro-Palestenian protest encampments that took place from April 29 to May 10.
- On May 1, law enforcement cleared the tents and arrested 34 protesters, five of whom were cited. According to campus police, the additional citations are a result of an internal review of those arrests. [Cap Times]
