🌎 How is climate change affecting Madison?
June 26, 2024
Hellooooooooo Madison! I don’t know about y’all, but I am getting so excited to watch the summer Olympics. It has been so cool to see a lot of Wisconsin natives and UW-Madison alumni moving on from the trials. Right now, there are 10 Badgers heading to the 2024 Olympics🏅

What's CITY Talking About?

🚧 Expect Downtown Road Closures
- With Concerts on the Square starting today, people should expect more traffic around the isthmus and Capitol Square due to road closures. Those passing eastbound through the isthmus are advised to go on John Nolen Drive or Johnson Street. Those going westbound should use John Nolen Drive or Gorham Street.
- And if you find yourself stuck in traffic, why not listen to City Cast Madison’s recent conversation with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s music director? [Channel 3000, City Cast Madison 🎧]
🫂 WisconsinSibs Comes to Madison
- This Fox Valley Organization is now coming to town. WisconsinSibs offers programs for parents, but also for brothers and sisters of children with disabilities or long-term illnesses.
- There are workshops that specifically target children from ages 6-12. These events combine recreation and discussion. [15 WMTV]
🗳️ Electronic Absentee Ballots for Disabled Voters
- A Dane County judge ruled disabled voters will be able to vote electronically from home this November. The change will assist those who cannot independently read or mark up their own ballot. Voters will still need to mail or deliver their ballot to their local clerk, as all absentee voters do.
- This decision is likely to be appealed and has created concerns for some in regards to security. However, disability rights advocates say a lack of electronic absentee option is a violation to those with disabilities right to independence and privacy when voting.
