💡More clean energy

July 3, 2024

Good morning, Madison! To start off with a little bit of housekeeping, there won’t be a newsletter tomorrow because of Independence Day. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. Today’s newsletter has events for July 3-5, so check it out to see some events you can do in the next couple of days. And if you plan on taking the bus, be sure to double check the schedule for service changes!

💡 Increased Accessibility to Clean Energy

  • The U.S. Department of Energy is giving Dane County $266,890 to help more homes access clean energy sources.
  • The county plans to work with three community organizations that have ties to underprivileged communities to help provide information and resources on various clean energy opportunities. Dane County will accept proposals until July 8 for those interested. [County of Dane Wisconsin]

🌉 New Bridge and Bike Path

  • The city is trying to make it easier for cyclists to get from the far east side of town to downtown. The Autumn Ridge Path will connect Milwaukee Street to Commercial Avenue north of highway 30, and will have a bridge that spans Highway 30.
  • Currently, bikers have to navigate these areas on the road. The bike path is an effort to increase safety for bikers in Madison. The project is set to be completed by December.
