🗳️ Results: Dane County Primaries

• Tuesday’s primary elections advanced State Sen. Melissa Agard and County Board Supervisor Dana Pellebon to a November runoff election. Either Agard or Pellebon will finish the remainder of former Dane County Executive Joe Parisi’s term through April 2025.
• In the State Senate District 16 Democratic race, which includes east Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, and Cottage Grove, State Rep. Melissa Ratcliff secured more votes than her two Assembly colleagues to represent the newly drawn district.
• Attorney Andrew Hysell emerged victorious for State Assembly District 48, beating four other contenders to represent the East Towne Mall area of Madison along with parts of Sun Prairie and Dodge County.
• In the State Assembly District 78 race, Rep. Shelia Stubbs will represent the newly created district, which includes areas of south and east Madison.

🥰 Hmong Immersive Child Care Center Coming to Madison

• The Hmong Institute is set to open a child care center later this year where children will receive care while immersed in the Hmong language and culture.
• The center aims to enroll as many as 120 children between 2 and 5 years of age at their Femrite Drive nonprofit who will learn from the elders in the community organization’s day program and from Hmong-speaking teachers. [Cap Times]

🩸 New Blood Donation Center in Madison

• The American Red Cross Madison East Blood Donation Center is moving to a bigger location on East Park Boulevard.
• They will begin receiving blood donations after Sept. 24, and are especially seeking donors with type O blood amid a national shortage. [🔒WSJ]
