🧅 Madison-born The Onion buys InfoWars
November 15, 2024 · —Rob Thomas
Good morning, Madison! The satirical website The Onion, which was born decades ago in a little office on State Street, bought right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ InfoWars at a bankruptcy auction to keep it out of the hands of Jones’ allies. Whatever The Onion does with the site, we hope it finds a home for A Room of Jean’s Own. 🧅

What's CITY Talking About?
⚖️ 3 Women Accuse Ald. Charles Myadze Of Sexual Harassment
- Three women, including a City Council member, have accused north side Ald. Charles Myadze of sexual harassment, according to a Madison report. The women told investigators that Myadze made sexually explicit comments and other unwanted sexual advances towards them.
- Investigators concluded Myadze’s behavior was inappropriate but did not qualify as sexual harassment under the law or under city rules. The accusations come months after Myadze was accused by two other women of domestic violence.
- Dig deeper: On the City Cast Madison podcast, Bianca Martin talked to Ald. Sabrina Madison about why she and many others think Myadze needs to resign. [Instagram, 🔒 WSJ, City of Madison, Madison365, 🎧 City Cast Madison]
🧑⚖️ Attorneys Don’t Want This Judge To Hear Their Cases
- Attorneys have sought to remove Dane County Judge Ellen Berz from their cases 420 times since 2020, according to a Cap Times investigation. That’s hundreds more requests than any of Berz’s 16 colleagues.
- Last month, Berz was the subject of a misconduct complaint from the Wisconsin Judicial Commission that could lead to discipline by the state Supreme Court. [Cap Times, WKOW]
🏡 Residents Must Remove Fences Or Face Hefty Fees
- Residents along the Southwest Commuter Path have been told by the city that they must remove fences along the path, some of which have been there for decades, or face fees of $500 to $2,000 per year to keep them.
- Dozens of residents received letters from the city saying that their fences encroached on the trail, which is a former railroad track owned by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation but managed by the city. [WKOW]

We’ve met Willow and Cedar in previous weeks, now meet the third feline member of their household, Zumbro! As you can tell from the photo, Zumbro is definitely a water cat, and loves laying in the wet bathroom sink and splashing water from the faucet.
