🕯️ Madison Grieves Victims in Abundant Life Shooting

• Hundreds of people gathered on the Capitol Square Tuesday evening at a vigil to grieve the teacher and student at Abundant Life Christian School who were killed in a school shooting Monday. Mourners lit candles, wrote notes and laid flowers on wooden crosses.
• Renee Moe of United Way of Dane County said over $21,000 has been donated to a recovery fund for the school.

⚖️ Complaint: Myadze Abuse Of Partner Lasted Years

• Ald. Charles Myadze repeatedly abused his partner, Madison Deputy Mayor Gloria Reyes, for years while they were in a relationship, including beating, strangling and threatening to kill her, according to a criminal complaint filed in Dane County.
• Myadze is charged with eight felonies, including burglary-committing battery on a person, substantial battery, and three counts of strangulation and suffocation. Reyes said she documented a dozen incidents between 2019 and 2021, using photos and emails sent to herself. [Channel 3000]

🎶 Get Ready For Madison’s Next Big Music Venue

• Renovations are underway on what will become Madison’s next big music venue, Atwood Music Hall, scheduled to open in June.
• Toffer Christensen, owner of the Bur Oak, purchased the former Madison Gospel Tabernacle building on Winnebago St. He intends to turn the historic building into a 400-700 seat concert venue, which has terrific acoustics, thanks in part to its lamella roof. [Isthmus]
