🚲 BCycles Are Back on Madison Streets

  • In a sure sign that spring is approaching, Madison BCycle season got underway this week. The bike share company previously owned by Wisconsin-based Trek was purchased last fall by a national company, Bicycle Transit System.
  • BCycles are available at 90 locations around Madison. Madison College and UW-Madison offer discounts for its students and faculty, and Madison Public Library users get a free week pass every month.
  • 🎧 Dig deeper: Whether you’re riding a BCycle or own your own bike, it’s never too early to plan your next trip! On the City Cast Madison podcast today, host Bianca Martin talks to Madison Bikes co-founder Grant Foster on his favorite trips, and how to get your bike ready. 📪 Were Misleading Election Postcards an Honest Mistake?

  • Several Wisconsin voters received hand-written postcards in the mail urging them to vote for Judge Susan Crawford in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. The problem? The cards urged them to vote on April 11, when the election is April 1.
  • Some suspected a disinformation campaign and contacted the Wisconsin Elections Commission, but the explanation may be more benign. The director of the advocacy group behind the postcards, Activate America, said some volunteers may have misread “April 1!” in the script they were given as “April 11.” Activate America has changed the script and apologized to Wisconsin voters.
  • Stay tuned: Next week on the City Cast Madison podcast, host Bianca Martin sits down with Crawford herself. Subscribe today and don’t miss it! [WPR, 🎧 City Cast Madison]

🏨 Dayton Street ‘Aparthotel’ The Dylin Opens Thursday

  • If you’re seeking shelter from the storm, The Dylin, a new 55-room “aparthotel”, opens Thursday at 611 Dayton St.
  • The building features 55 luxury units in a wide range of occupancy sizes, from studio apartments to a three-bedroom suite, and two houses that can accommodate 10 to 14 guests. [In Business Madison, The Dylin]

Do you know where this wall of vinyl is located? A few clues:

  • It’s located on the north side
  • It’s inside a bar patterned after a Japanese listening bar known as a “jazz kissa”
  • It recently had a Marilyn Monroe cutout stolen from its entryway, and then returned!
