  • Under former President Joe Biden, the city was awarded the $20 million Community Change Grant by the Environmental Protection Agency for home upgrades, sustainability programs, and income assistance for low-income households. The city administers the program through local community partners, including Urban Triage and Operation Fresh Start, but said the federal money used to pay those partners has been suspended. Hug it out, Gracie and Jiji! (Photo by Sam W. and Ellen B.)

Meet Gracie and Jiji, the “unmistakable joy” in their humans' lives. Jiji is a “chonker” who takes after his poppa Sam and loves string, while Gracie is brilliant like his Mom Ellen and lives for churros. Sounds like a happy family!
