🐢 Tortoise on the loose (slowly)!

July 11, 2025 · — Rob Thomas

Good morning, Madison! Did you catch the segment on Middleton’s National Mustard Museum that aired on CBS last weekend? If not, you can watch it online. It’s a fun piece, if only to see if you can recognize the Madisonians screwing up their faces while trying super spicy mustards. It’s like our very own “Hot Ones”! 🔥

Friday Floof

With apologies to past Friday Floofs, Midnight Leo McManus may have the coolest name ever. (Photo by Kimberly G.)

You will not be surprised to learn that Midnight Leo McManus is a hit with the ladies. This handsome fellow is not all looks, though. He works hard and plays hard, protecting his family from pests and shadows by day, and watching sports by night. If he’s really into a game, he’ll tap the TV screen as he sees a pass, just to give the ball a little extra oomph. But above all, Midnight is a lovely companion who reminds his mom and dad to slow down and enjoy the sun.

📰 Extra! Extra! Have you seen this tortoise? Someone posted on Facebook recently that their Russian tortoise got loose at Cherokee Marsh Park at North Sherman Avenue on July 7. Keep your eyes peeled if you’re in the area – he can’t have gotten far 🐢
