🚨 Police step up enforcement after fatal crash
March 27, 2026 · – Rob Thomas
Good morning, Madison! At 80, former Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle has developed a new passion – hot yoga. The guv just hit a 1,000-class milestone at Inner Fire Yoga in Madison, and has even successfully done a handstand. Maybe Gov. Tony Evers will join Doyle on the mat for some pigeon poses after he retires next year? 🧘

What's CITY Talking About

🚨Police Still See Widespread Speeding On Park Street
- In the wake of a deadly crash on Park Street that killed 17-year-old Sasha Rosen, Madison police have increased traffic patrols on the street and are still seeing dangerous driving and speeding.
- Officers conducted 270 traffic stops during targeted enforcement periods and issued more than 200 citations for speeding. Many of those drivers were speeding 20 to 25 miles per hour above the 25 mph posted speed limit, with the fastest going 62 miles per hour.
- The additional patrols will continue at least through mid-April. [WKOW]
It’s a lot of stops. Finally putting officers out there to view and then cite violations, we’re able to finally put this number on it, which is a fairly significant number considering the low speed limit and nature of the neighborhoods around Park Street.
🪧 Third ‘No Kings’ Protest Downtown This Saturday
- Madison police are expecting 20,000 people to gather downtown this weekend for the third “No Kings” rally to protest the domestic and foreign actions of the Trump administration.
- People will gather at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Brittingham Park, then march together to the Capitol for a 2 p.m. rally. Madison police said those traveling downtown should expect road closures and traffic delays.
- Badger Collective is the local group organizing the protest and said they want this rally to be as peaceful and orderly as the first two No Kings rallies. Madison police have been holding a series of public conversations in the lead-up to the rally to explain their approach to keeping people safe while protecting their right to protest. ⚖️ Supreme Court Debate Delayed After Chris Taylor is Hospitalized
- A debate between Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates Chris Taylor and Maria Lazar set for Wednesday was postponed after Taylor was diagnosed with kidney stones.
- Taylor, a Dane County Appeals Court Judge, felt unwell when she woke up Wednesday morning and went to urgent care, where physicians recommended that she be hospitalized for additional evaluation. Taylor’s campaign said she will recover in the next few days, and are working to reschedule the debate.

Meet Olive! She’s a borgi (Border collie / corgi) who’s ridiculously smart and loves all people and animals. She would be living her best life out herding critters on the open pampas of South America, but she’s just as happy dressed as a mermaid too.
