🧒 Frautschi Donated $6.5 Million to Children’s Museum

  • Madison philanthropist Jerry Frautschi, who died in January, left behind one last gift for the Madison Children’s Museum. Frautschi has given $6.5 million to the museum for maintenance, renovations, and sustainability upgrades to the building at 100 North Hamilton Street.
  • It’s the largest such donation in the museum’s history, and comes on top of the $5 million Frautschi donated in 2005 to help secure the five-story building. He also gave $1 million in 2020 to create the Wonderground outdoor play space, and he and his wife, Pleasant Rowland, each committed $2 million to the museum’s Facilities Fund in 2023. [WMTV]
Jerry Frautschi’s belief in the power of cultural institutions and his long-standing commitment to this building affirms the museum’s role in making Madison a place where families and communities thrive.

Solar, without panels.

If you're planning a new roof in Madison this year, there's a different way to go solar. Solar shingles generate clean energy while blending directly into the roof itself, upgrading curb appeal and preserving roof integrity. Correction: In Tuesday’s newsletter, the election results for Dane County Board District 9 were incorrect. Aria X. Trucios beat Simran Arora for that supervisor seat. Check out all the results here. City Cast Madison regrets the error.
